UBA Mobile Money: U-Mo review

UBA, one of the top banks in Nigeria offers a mobile money service called U-Mo.

U-Mo allows customers to make transactions through a mobile device linked to a cash account. The issue of payments with cash, cheques, and credit and debit cards are no longer necessary, because your transactions can be easily done with your Mobile Device on the U-Mo platform.

Mobile Money is a convenient means of making payment for Bill and Services through Your Cell phone. In this part of the world that is in Africa and most especially in Nigeria, the use of Mobile Money for transactions is not yet popular as it is in the Western World. One reason for this is because the awareness of the benefits of using Mobile Wallet has not been made known to people. So creating a good awareness campaign of the benefits of Mobile Money for transactions is a good way to get more people involved in it.

How To Register For U-MONEY:
U-Money works on JAVA/GPRS enables mobile devices. To register and activate Your U-Money account, Text D UMOBILE and send it to 20220. It works on all GSM Networks; Mtn,GLO Eisalat,Airtel and Starcomm. >You would receive an SMS containing a link > Click on the link to download U-Mobile into your mobile device. Install U-Mobile into your mobile phone and open it. >You would be provided with the Terms and Conditions, Click to accept the Terms and Conditions and click on next to continue.

Three options would be brought out for you to choose from options are
–Register account.
-Register Debit card.
-Register Prepaid Card.

Click on the option you prefer and register for U-Money.
-However, if you have a GLO Sim card, you don’t need to download the U-Money. The Sim comes with U-Money menu option. You can easily register through the option.

How To Fund Your U-Money Account:
When you are done with registering for a U-Money account. You are required to fund the account to be able to make transactions. You can fund the account via:
-A U-Money Agent: Visit any U-Money Agent around you, pay the cash to the Agent and provide your number, the e-Currency equivalent would be debited into your account. And a confirmation SMS would be sent to you.
-You can also link your U-Mobile Wallet account to your UBA Bank account. To fund the account, you need to visit any UBA Branch near you and deposit funds into your Mobile Wallet account.

How To Withdraw From Your U-Mobile Account:
-You can withdraw through an Agent, by transferring the amount to the Agent who in turns pays you the cash equivalent to you.
-You can transfer money from your U-Money Wallet into you UBA Bank account and withdraw from there.
-You can also withdraw from any ATM stand around you.
